The Miserable Offenders
were an internationally known duo founded by two New York City Episcopalians, Deborah Griffin Bly and Ana Hernandez. During the
time they were active, they sang throughout the Anglican Communion, from diocesan conventions and parish celebrations to the 1998
Lambeth Conference in Canterbury, England, their final performance.
Here's a sample of their sound:
Angels We
Have Heard on High
(688 KB, wav format, approximately one minute)
That sample is from their first CD, 'Keepin' the Baby Awake',
a collection of Advent and Christmas music. Their second CD, 'God Help Us' (to which Jeanie refers) contains an astonishing variety of music, from original
compositions to unique arrangements of traditional hymns. It also includes their spellbinding arrangement of 'Breathe on me, Breath
of God', often acclaimed as the favourite of their many devoted fans.
