[Magdalen] Westminster.

Well, since we had springer spaniels when growing up, that's my favorite.
They *really* don't like to be left alone, but wonderful otherwise. After
retirement, my parents had golden retrievers, which I don't care for. Very
affectionate, but also very dumb.

I must mention here that Lee's oldest sister was (at the time, maybe still)
the youngest person to ever win at Westminster, for best brace of dogs. She
was (IIRC) 10 at the time, so this would have been in the late 40's. We also
have a framed copy of a magazine ad for Purina, which features a cute little
girl (Lee, age 7 or so) with a couple of the shelties they raised. Shelties,
being herding dogs, are fine with me.

Well, I don't care for terriers, even though I grew up with one. My
favorites are the Herding and Working groups. Ot's a personal thing,
obviously. The BIS is simply about which dog is the best example of not
only its breed, but its group, and I disagreed mightily with that choice.
I'm not a particular fan of beagles, but she didn't strike me as a really
great one, either. I thought the English Springer was the best last night,
although I was secretly pulling for either the Portuguese Water Dog or the
Shih Tzu, neither of which breed would I particularly want to own. S/O,
having grown up with Springers, was smitten.
