[Magdalen] end of life documents (was Re: Rant)

I have looked into the options available for my mother, should they be
necessary and the one area that concerns me is that here in TX, is that if
the patient verbally 'voids' the documentation while being questioned by
health care people, it can be ignored or voided. This is a troubling
thought to me, as I have come to view hospitals (in the scope of my
experience) dealing with the elderly rather pro-active to prolong life at
any cost (procedures, machines, etc) and to intimidate/guilt family members.
This combination of seeking patient ascent in the face of documentation for
'another way' and aggressive hospital action I have experienced before it
was actually a 'life or death' situation, is something I just have to 'let
go' of as mom and I move forward, and hope that circumstances like that do
not present themselves.

peace
Lynn

When I stand before God at the end of my life I would hope that I have not a
single bit of talent left and could say, "I used everything You gave me."
