I would guess many of them leave the RCC entirely as they are not able to
exercise their ministries there. Likewise also monks and nuns who leave
and
marry?>>>>>>>>>
In the Bethlehem (USA) Diocese we have had our bishop +Mark Dyer who
was a former RC Benedictine monk, and his wife a nun in the same Order.
She, too, was priested in TEC. Another former RC priest who became a
TEC clergyman in the Bethlehem Diocese ended up teaching at the General
Theological Seminary.

As to RC clergymen departing locally, many here seem to be because they
are gay and leave to join their partners. At least some of these are so
angry
with the system (RCC) that they never darken a church door of any
denomination again. We had the rather dramatic departure of an assistant
priest in a downtown parish, who finished his Mass duties and then told the
startled congregation that he was leaving to join the man he loved (also a
RCC priest), gathered his bag from the sacristy, and walked to the bus
station for New York City to join his friend.

It was quite a picture, but then gays/lesbians have always had this
dramatic
side. It reminds me of a fellow physician I know who, along with several
gay and lesbian candidates, was refused ordination to the Methodist
jurisdiction
where they were resident (Twin Cities) back in the day. They all (four of
them)
dusted off their shoes on the front pews of the convention church in a show
with a biblical message, and walked out.
