Conference on the Religious Life

Monks, nuns and associates of the church's religious orders emerge from a warm, dim St. John's Cathedral Sunday afternoon. Twenty-four member communities of the Conference on the Religious Life were celebrating the conference's 50th anniversary with a solemn evensong and a reception on the lawn. Clouds of incense accompanied the religious as they processed earlier through the nave of the great gothic church. A "Directory 2000," describing the conference's member orders, all the traditional orders in the church in the United States and Canada, is available in the exhibit hall at the Cowley booth. photo/DICK SNYDER

This web page is a converted copy of information from the ECUSA General Convention Daily, produced by the staff of Episcopal Life for people at General Convention 2000. If you have any issue with its content, please refer to the original. Many times we later find better-quality photographs than those from the Convention Daily, and we replace the original photographs with them if we believe that they are equivalent for the purposes of the story.
