Archbishops' Council Announced

In middle May, the Church of England announced that it was searching for members of an Archbishops' Council. You can read our
news coverage of it if you have forgotten or did not see the original.
Today the names of the ten elected members have been announced. They are:
Rt Revd Michael Turnbull, Bishop of Durham
Rt Revd John Gladwin, Bishop of Guildford
Canon Hugh Wilcox, St Albans, Prolocutor of the Convocation of Canterbury
Canon John Stanley, Liverpool, Prolocutor of the Convocation of York
Dr Christina Baxter, Southwell, Chairman of the House of Laity
Dr Philip Giddings, Oxford, Vice-Chairman of the House of Laity
Very Revd Michael Perham, Provost of Derby
Ven Pete Broadbent, London, Archdeacon of Northolt
Brian McHenry, Southwark
Christina Rees, St Albans
The names of the six appointed members will be submitted to the General Synod in November. The names of the senior executives have also
been announced:
